The President, or the person who during a vacancy in the office of, or in the absence of, the President, shall from time to time, by writing under his hand, appoint two or more persons to superintend the destruction of obsolete bank plates, dies, and rolls, and the said persons shall, after such destruction, forward a certificate to the Secretary-Treasurer, setting out particulars of the plates, dies or rolls destroyed. Where such bank plates, dies and rolls are the property of a solvent bank, the bank in question shall be represented at the destruction thereof by the manager of Its Ottawa branch or by a representative appointed in writing by its chief executive officer.
