Question 143. - A cheque made payable to the order of John Jones, not endorsed by him, is deposited to the credit of a joint account John or Mary Jones. Is this legal?
Answer. - No. Such cheque not bearing the endorsement of John Jones must be deposited to the credit of an account in the name of John Jones only.
