No. 1390. - This variety of Cabbage is a native of Italy. They are distinguished from the common head Cabbage by their peculiarly wrinkled or blistered leaves. They resemble the cauliflower somewhat in texture and flavor, having but little of the musky odor and taste of the large varieties of Cabbage. They are hardier and more easily cultivated than the other varieties, but will seldom survive through the winter in open ground. A little frosty weather is considered necessary for the complete perfection of their texture and flavor. Their treatment during winter is the same as that of common Cabbages.
