Wragg, in the Iowa Homestead, make the good point that numberless supposed new things under new names, but which are really old and common things at very novel and astounding prices, might be readily detected if parties would only send and keep for reference the catalogues of leading eastern firms. If the new name is not found there, it most likely is of doubtful character. He names the nurseries Hoopes Brother & Thomas and Ellwanger& Barry, as among those whose catalogues should be regarded as authority on such questions.
