We learn from President Berckmans that a meeting will be held at Dalton, on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of August; on the 9th and 10th the State Agricultural Society will have its annual fair at Canton. The Georgia Central, W. & A., S. F. & W. Railroads, have generously agreed to pass all members free over their lines of road. The Southern Express Company will, as usual, extend free transportation to all packages of fruits, vegetables, and flowers intended for exhibition. The occasion promises to be a memorable one for Southern horticulture, and we are sorry we had not our attention called to it a month earlier.
