The dried flowering herb of Genista tinctoria, L. (family Leguminosae) yielded upon distillation 0,0237 p.c. of an oil that was solid at ordinary temperature and which melted at 36°: d33o 0,8980. It begins to boil at 80°, between 80 and 100° about 5 p.c. pass over, between 100 and 200° 10 p.c, the balance between 200 and 280° 1).
