- Remove the chickens to a warm place. Mix 1 oz. of castor oil with 1/4 oz. syrup of ginger; mix a teaspoonful of this with a little thick gruel, and force a little down several times a day, so that it shall get half a teaspoonful of the mixture in the course of the day.
Give ground malt and barley-meal in equal quantities, adding a little powdered caraway or coriander-seed.
Eggs boiled hard, nettles, and parsley, all chopped up, and moistened with wine or water.
Castor oil 1 oz., syrup of ginger 1/4 oz., syrup of poppies 1/4 oz.; mix with gruel and force a little down occasionally - Clater.
