We have estimated the equivalent of carbonate of potash (Potass carhonas of the London Pharmacopoeia), and of carbonate of soda, at 84 each. Mr. Phillips makes the former 835; but .5 may be allowed for impurity and extra moisture: the (sesqui-) carbonate of soda he makes 83, but the composition of the best commercial specimens approaches nearer to the bicarbonate, which is 85.
