Definition. - The dried plant of Chondrus crispus (L.) Lyngbe. One part of chondrus boiled with 30 parts of water yields a solution which gelatinizes on cooling.
Dose. - As a demulcent drink, 15 grains (1/2 ounce), U. S. P.
