Calcii Glycerophosphate. Calcium Glycerophosphate. (Not official.)
Phosphoric Acid, 30; mixed with Glycerin, 36; is kept at a little above normal body temperature for six days, being shaken several times daily. On the seventh day it is cooled, its acidity is gradually and completely neutralized with Calcium Carbonate. After two days the solution is filtered, and the salt precipitated by Alcohol. The precipitate is dissolved in cold water, the solution filtered and evaporated to dryness at a low temperature.
A white, crystalline powder. Solubility. - In 20 parts of water, almost insoluble in boiling water, and insoluble in Alcohol.
Dose, 5 to 15 gr.; .30 to 1.00 gm.
