Prep. (Sulphate of copper in crystals, half an ounce; solution of ammonia, a sufficiency; distilled water, a sufficiency. Dissolve the sulphate of copper in eight fluid ounces of the water, and to the solution add the ammonia until the precipitate first formed is nearly dissolved. Clear the solution by filtration, and then add distilled water, so that the bulk may be ten fluid ounces.) It is introduced as a test for the qualitative analysis of liquor ammoniae fortior.
