The tatted doyley shown in our illustration, Fig. 47, is so distinctly marked that it does not need an explanation to those skilled in the use of the shuttle. The tatting, which is composed of double and pearl stitches, should be worked as seen in the illustration, with No. 6 cotton, and the spider's web in No. 16. The design would be equally suitable for a baby's cap crown, or it might be used for a flower stand mat.
