Model No. 11. - Hone.
Have the pupil cut from a 3-4" board a piece 1 3-4" x 16". Prepare from this an oblong 9-16" x 1 9-16" x 1.3 1-16". Draw plan upon two opposite sides of wood. Mark off for the 1-4" thickness with marking-gauge, and with tenon-saw cut down to these lines within 1-16" of the handle. With the use of the smoothing-plane, and chisel cut away down to the lines. Cut around the lines of handle within 1-16" of the line with the turning-saw. Round and bevel edges with knife and file according to drawing, and finish with sand-paper.
