II. (Paolo Emilio), an Italian historian, born in Verona, died in Paris, May 5, 1529. In consequence of his celebrity as a writer in Italy, Louis XII. made him a canon of the cathedral of Paris, and employed him to write a history of the kings of France in Latin.
