1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 1/2 cups water Butter size of egg.
3 apples peeled and cored.
1/2 cup butter.
3/4 cup sugar 1 scant cup milk.
1 egg.
1 1/2 cups Gold Medal Flour.
2 teaspoons Dr. Price's baking powder.
Vanilla.
Put 1. into iron skillet and cook unutil it thickens a Slice apples in rings 1/2 inch thick. Let them boil in mixture until transparent - about 10 minutes, or until juice boils almost half way. When apples cool a little pour cake on top of skillet and contents and bake in oven about 20 minutes.

1 cup water 1/2 cup butter.
1 cup Gold Medal Flour 3 eggs.
Melt butter in water and boil. Add flour all at once and stir until a soft ball. Take off fire and beat in the eggs one at a time. Place on pan like drop cakes. Bake in moderate oven one-half hour or more.
1 1/2 tablespoons Gold Medal flour.
1 1/3 cups milk.
1 beaten egg.
1 cup sugar.
1 teaspoon vinegar.
Stir sugar, flour and milk in double boiler. When cooked add egg and stir until thick. Add vinegar and allow to cool. Then cut the tops off the puffs, fill with this filling and put tops on with chocolate frosting.

2 tablespoons butter 3/4 cup brown sugar.
1 can pineapple Cake:
2 eggs.
1 cup sugar 1/2 cup pineapple juice 1 cup Gold Medal flour 1 teaspoon Dr. Price's Baking Powder.
Place butter and sugar in skillet on low flame. Mix well. Cut up pineapple and place in pan. Let simmer for fifteen minutes. Meanwhile mix cake. Mixture should be consistency pancake batter. Pour it over pineapple and sugar substance in skillet and place skillet in moderate oven for 30 minutes. Serve cold with whipped cream.

1 cup Gold Medal flour.
1 3/4 tablespoons lard.
1/2 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons cold water.
Sift flour and salt cut in lard with two knives. Add water gradually until mixture can be rolled out, and place in pie plate. Bake fifteen to twenty minutes and let cool before adding hot lemon cream filling.
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch.
1 cup sugar.
2 egg yolks.
1 1/2 lemons (juice) 1 cup boiling water Butter size of an egg.
Mix cornstarch with sugar. Add egg yolks and beat well. Then add lemon juice, boiling water and butter. If stirred constantly mixture may be cooked until thick in single boiler. Pour into baked pastry shell, and cover with meringue as follows :
2 eggs whites.
1 table spoon granulated sugar.
Beat eggs and sugar and drop on pie. Place in oven until brown.

1 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter.
2 squares melted chocolate.
2 well beaten eggs.
1/4 cup evaporated milk.
1/4 cup water.
1 1/2 cups Gold Medal Flour.
1 1/2 teaspoons Royal.
Baking Powder 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
Cream the sugar and butter. Add the chocolate and beat well, then add eggs, milk diluted with water, and the other ingredients. Beat for 10 minutes and bake in two layers.
2 heaping tablespoons cocoa 1 tablespoon butter 4 tablespoons made Chase & Sanborn's Coffee.
Confectioners sugar, enough to make a smooth paste.

1/2 pound butter (1 cup) 3/4 pound white sugar (2 cups).
5 or 6 well beaten eggs.
1 teaspoon Royal baking powder.
3/4 pound Sultana raisins.
1/2 cup sour cream 3/4 pound Gold Medal flour.
2 lemons (rind).
1 lemon (juice).
1/4 pound mixed peel.
Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs, then flour and baking powder mixed. Then add sour cream, raisins and other ingredients. Beat well and bake in moderate oven.

1/2 cup butter.
2 ounces chocolate (2 quares) 1 cup boiling water 1 cup sugar.
1 cup Gold Medal flour 3/4 teaspoon soda 1/4 cup sour milk 1 egg.
Mix in order given, letting the water melt the butter and chocolate and adding the remainder. Bake in a moderate oven 30-40 minutes. Cut in good sized pieces and serve with whipped cream topped with cherries or chopped nuts. If preferred, a boiled white frosting with cocoanut may be used. This cake is very easy and quick to make. It is always successful.
